SubSnap is operated by an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the SubSnap mobile application and related services.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to this Privacy Policy. We may update this policy by revising the last updated date and posting the revised version in the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

• Subscription names, billing amounts, billing cycles, and related subscription metadata
• Screenshots or photos used for OCR import
• Language, theme, reminder, and currency settings
• Reminder schedules and APNs device token if notifications are enabled
• App Store receipt data and transaction metadata for purchase verification
• Backup snapshots of subscription, reminder, and expense data

2.2 Information collected automatically

• A randomly generated device ID used for backup, restore, and notifications
• Basic service logs such as request IDs, timestamps, and response status codes
• Infrastructure-level network metadata for security and reliability

We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.

3. Third-Party Processing and Use of Data

We use your information to provide and maintain the Service, process OCR requests, enable backup and restore, send notifications, verify purchases, and protect against abuse or security incidents.

• OCR providers: Ark API or OpenRouter may process images to extract subscription details.
• Apple: Purchases are processed through Apple and verified using receipt metadata.
• Infrastructure providers: Cloud services such as AWS may store encrypted snapshots and operate backend services.
• iCloud: Apple iCloud may be used if you enable iCloud backup.

We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.

4. Storage, Security, and Retention

• Local data is stored on your device in a SQLite database.
• Backup snapshots may be stored on our backend and encrypted when configured.
• We use HTTPS/TLS, access controls, least-privilege policies, and encryption for stored snapshots.
• Local data remains until you delete it; server snapshots may persist until replaced or deleted upon request.
• OCR images are not retained by SubSnap after processing.

No transmission or storage method is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

5. Your Rights and Regional Notices

You may access, correct, or delete your data in the app, request a copy of your data, or withdraw consent by disabling features such as OCR or notifications.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPL, APPI, or PIPA. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable age threshold.

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SubSnap regarding your use of the Service. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using SubSnap, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility and License

• You must be at least 13 years old, or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction.
• If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
• SubSnap grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Permitted and Prohibited Uses

You may use SubSnap to track subscriptions, receive reminders, analyze expenses, backup and restore data, and extract data from images using OCR.

• Do not use the Service for illegal or unauthorized purposes.
• Do not reverse engineer, derive source code, or circumvent security controls.
• Do not use automation to scrape, overload, or attack the Service.
• Do not upload malware or harmful content.

4. User Data, OCR, and Third-Party Services

• Your subscription data is stored locally on your device.
• Server backups may be used to enable restore and notifications.
• OCR images are sent to our backend and then to third-party OCR providers for processing.
• OCR results may contain errors, so you should verify extracted data.
• Third-party services such as Apple, iCloud, AWS, and OCR providers are governed by their own terms and policies.

5. Fees, Disclaimers, and Liability

• Optional paid features may include OCR, advanced reminders, cloud backup, and lifetime unlocks.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to App Store policies.
• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service, if any.

6. Governing Law, Disputes, and Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you are located in the United States, disputes may be resolved by binding arbitration where permitted by law after informal resolution.
